Plain-language summary: We use three types of cookies: essential (always on, required to log in and use the platform), functional (remember your preferences), and analytics (understand product usage in aggregate). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can turn off functional and analytics cookies at any time.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit it. They are widely used to make websites work correctly, to remember your preferences, and to help website operators understand how visitors use their sites.

Cookies are set either by the website you are visiting directly (first-party cookies) or by third-party services that the website uses, such as analytics or payment providers (third-party cookies). Each cookie has a name, a value, and an expiry date. When you return to a website, your browser sends the relevant cookies back to the site so it can recognise you or recall your settings.

In addition to traditional cookies, we may also use similar technologies such as local storage, session storage, and pixel tags where appropriate. All references to "cookies" in this policy include these similar technologies unless stated otherwise.

Your consent matters. For cookies that are not strictly necessary for the platform to function, we obtain your consent before setting them, in accordance with the EU ePrivacy Directive, GDPR, UK PECR, and equivalent regulations. You can withdraw consent at any time.

How we use cookies

We use cookies for three purposes only: to operate the platform (essential), to remember your preferences (functional), and to understand how the product is used at an aggregate level (analytics). We group these into the categories below, each with a clear explanation of what they do and whether you can turn them off.

Essential cookies
Required for the platform to function
Always active

These cookies are necessary for you to log in, navigate the dashboard, and use core features. Without them, the platform cannot function. They cannot be turned off without disabling your ability to use Proof. No personal data collected by these cookies is shared with third parties or used for any purpose other than operating the Service.

Functional cookies
Remember your settings and preferences
Optional

These cookies remember your dashboard layout preferences, notification settings, language, and similar personalisation options. They make the platform more convenient to use. If you disable them, the platform will still work but you may need to re-enter your preferences each session.

Analytics cookies
Understand product usage in aggregate
Optional

These cookies help us understand which features are used most, where users encounter friction, and how the product performs overall. The data is used in aggregate and anonymised after 30 days. We do not use Google Analytics. Our analytics provider is privacy-respecting, does not track users across other websites, and does not sell data.

Advertising and tracking cookies
Not used by Proof
Never used

We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or any cookies that track your behaviour across third-party websites. We do not work with ad networks, data brokers, or behavioural advertising platforms. This is a firm commitment, not a preference that may change with a policy update.

Essential cookies in detail

The following essential cookies are set when you log in to or use the Proof platform. They are all first-party cookies set by proof.broadable.com or app.proof.broadable.com.

All essential cookies are HttpOnly (not accessible to JavaScript) and Secure (only sent over HTTPS). They do not contain personal data beyond what is necessary to maintain your session.

Functional cookies in detail

Functional cookies are optional and require your consent. They improve your experience within the platform by remembering personalisation choices you have made.

You can disable functional cookies at any time via your account Settings page under Privacy, or by clearing cookies for proof.broadable.com in your browser. The platform will continue to work normally; you may simply need to re-select your preferences at the start of each session.

Analytics cookies in detail

We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to understand how users interact with the Proof dashboard. We do not use Google Analytics. The analytics cookies we set are first-party cookies, and the data they collect is processed in aggregate. Individual session data is anonymised after 30 days and retained in aggregate form only.

Cookie namePurposeDurationType

Analytics cookies require your consent. We display a consent banner on your first visit to the platform. If you decline analytics cookies, the analytics session and anonymous ID cookies will not be set. Your ability to use every feature of Proof is completely unaffected by your analytics cookie choice.

No advertising or tracking cookies

We want to be unambiguous about this: Proof does not use advertising cookies, retargeting cookies, or any cookie that tracks your browsing behaviour across websites other than proof.broadable.com.

Specifically, we do not use cookies from or for:

  • NoGoogle Ads, Google Tag Manager (for advertising), or DoubleClick

  • NoLinkedIn Insight Tag or other social media ad tracking pixels

This commitment applies to all parts of proof.broadable.com and the Proof dashboard. We will update this policy and provide notice before implementing any advertising cookie that is not listed here.

Cookies set by Proof widgets on your website

When you embed a Proof widget (Wall of Love, testimonial collection form, or similar) on your own website, that widget may set a small number of cookies on your visitors' devices. These are separate from the cookies described above and apply only when your website visitors interact with embedded Proof content.

Cookies set by embedded widgets

Cookie namePurposeDurationWho sets it
proof_widget_seenRecords whether a visitor has already seen or submitted a testimonial collection form on your website, to avoid showing the same form repeatedly.30 daysSet by the Proof widget script on your domain
proof_w_idAn anonymous identifier used to attribute widget impressions and conversions to the correct workspace for analytics reporting within your dashboard.SessionSet by the Proof widget script on your domain
Your responsibility as a Proof customer: If you embed Proof widgets on your website, you are responsible for disclosing these cookies in your own website's cookie policy and for obtaining any consent required by law in your jurisdiction. You should add a description of Proof widget cookies to your website's cookie notice or consent management platform. If you need exact cookie names and durations for your own policy, the table above contains everything you need.

How to manage and control cookies

You have several ways to control cookies set by Proof and by most other websites you visit.

Within the Proof platform

Logged-in users can manage functional and analytics cookie preferences at any time from Settings > Privacy > Cookie preferences within the Proof dashboard. Changes take effect immediately without requiring a page reload.

Via your browser

All major browsers allow you to view, manage, and delete cookies. The links below go directly to the cookie settings pages for the most common browsers:

🌐
Google Chrome
🦊
Mozilla Firefox
🧭
🔷
Microsoft Edge
📱

Please be aware that blocking all cookies through your browser settings will prevent you from logging in to the Proof dashboard, as essential session cookies are required for authentication. If you wish to use Proof while managing cookies, we recommend blocking only third-party cookies in your browser settings, which will have no effect on Proof's first-party essential cookies.

Do Not Track (DNT)

Some browsers support a "Do Not Track" (DNT) header that signals your preference not to be tracked. We respect DNT signals. When your browser sends a DNT signal, we will not set any optional analytics cookies for that session, regardless of your previous consent preferences stored on the platform.
